As Ramadan has come, I will be focusing my weekly posts on my daily reflections posted on instagram during this holy month!
Ramadan Day #1
And who are we to judge others? It’s you and your God. No action is too big or too small to beg him for forgiveness, he is always listening and most forgiving. So do so before it’s too late 💕
Allah says “i am in love with those who repent”
– Surah Baqarah ( Qur’an 2:222)
Ramadan Day #2
This world is nothing but a delusion remember Allah always! Your end goal should be to please him and only him.
“O mankind, indeed the promise of Allah is truth, so let not the worldly life delude you and be not deceived about Allah by the Deceiver.”
-Surah Fatir (Qur’an 35:5)
Ramadan Day #3
Today at work I witnessed a child break something which her friend had made. As she got worried about disappointing him she rushed to fix it but was over whelmed. He realized what she had done before she could finish. In fear of making him upset she began crying.
To her surprise, instead of him getting upset with her, he comforted her and told her
“it’s okay you did not mean to do it, I know it was an accident and I forgive you! Look I already fixed it.”
This reminded me that patience and love overcomes any negative action, and forgiveness is important. Turn to those around you and ask for forgiveness, and forgive them because holding grudges only hurts your heart more than it helps you, in any given situation.
“But indeed if any show patience and forgive, that would truly be an exercise of courageous will and resolution in the conduct of affairs”
– Surah Ash Shura (Qur’an 42:43)
Ramadan Day #4
Gosh if we only knew how lucky we are to be privileged enough to be able to utter the word Alhamdulilah- all praise is due to God. Which in it self is blessing enough, would it ever leave our mouths?!
“And If you would count the blessings of Allah you would not be able to count them…” – Surah Ibrahim (Qur’an 14:34)
Ramadan Day #5
Wake up and smell the roses! Thank god for waking up, for another day, for another chance, for another opportunity to achieve more, to do better and be greater. Don’t waste it. Stay humble and be grateful, alhamdulilah.
“Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you deny?”
– Surah Al-Rahman
Ramadan Day #6
The people you surround yourself is key. Not everyone has your best interest or there when you need them the most. So when you meet those who do love and appreciate them.
“Not everyone will be happy at your success, nor will everyone be sadden by your loss, so be careful who you share you personal matters with.”
– Mufti Menk
Ramadan Day #7
May we always remember Allah’s mercy and might. There is no other that can forgive us so turn to him and repent. No sin is too “wrong” or too “big.”
“Do they not know that God alone can accept the repentance of His worshipers and is the [true] recipient of what is offered for His sake, and that God alone is the Acceptor of Repentance, the Merciful-to-all?”
– Surah Taubah (Quran 9:104)
So that completes the first week of Ramadan! I hope it has been a spiritual time for all my fellow Muslims. I also, hope that my none Muslim readers were able to gain knowledge about Islam, along with the significance of Ramadan, and what the holy month is about ( for more info read my previous blog What Does Ramadan mean to Muslims). Any further questions? Please do not hesitate to ask 🙂
Peace and Love,
